Are you familiar with the phrase, “you hear me, but you weren’t listening?” Hearing and listening are dealing with two different things. Hearing is part of our senses, but listening means to give heed to what is being said. Sometimes we hear the Him, but are not listening. This is often the case in our walk with the Lord. Sometimes we don’t listen to the because what is being said sounds ridiculous…impossible, even. But, Jesus told us he would die and then rise again, which he did. This should be evidence that for God, nothing is impossible. God is still the God, even over ridiculousness. Sometimes we go through situations and wonder where He is during those times, but remember that God’s power is made perfect in our weakness – when you think He isn’t there is when He is there the most. You can find Him in the midst of your pain, suffering, anxiety, if you just stop and listen. He has told you he can bring you through your trials and tribulations – listen.
